Year 3/4 Football Team News!
At the end of last week, the Year 3/4 football team finally got to play their first two league fixtures of the season.
On Thursday, the team faced a very tough opposition in Torre Primary School. It was our first game, and the children showed real team spirit and a great sense of resilience. Even though the result didn’t go our way, the children really enjoyed competing in their first match and were blown away by a very skillful Torre. The other team nominated Cayson as our player-of-the-match - well done Cayson.
Despite losing quite convincingly on the previous day, the team were ready and raring to go again on Friday. This time they faced Babbcombe Primary School. It was clear that lessons had been learnt from the previous match! It was an amazing display by all players, but especially Anya who was able to put not just one, but four goals past the Babbacombe keeper! Unsurprisingly, Anya was our player-of-the-match - outstanding!
Well done to all players involved- you represented Watcombe brilliantly across both games.
Thank you to all parents/family members who gave up their time to come and support us. It’s very much appreciated!
