Nursery Admissions

Pupil Admission Number: 26 FTE (full-time equivalent) School Nursery places

All children are entitled to up to 15 hours of government-funded care and education, starting the term after their 3rd birthday. Some families may be eligible to access up to 30 hours of government-funded care and education for their children. For more information, please visit the Childcare Choices website. Admissions to our School Nursery are managed by the Nursery Teacher

To register your interest in a School Nursery place, please give your details to our school office on 01803 327419, who will record these in our Admissions Book. At the beginning of the term before children are due to start, offer letters and application forms are sent out to all children listed in the Admissions Book. Places are then allocated in line with the admissions criteria set out in our Nursery Admissions Policy which can be found under Children and Curriculum Policies  Allocated places and dates for induction events (Welcome Meeting, Open Morning/Afternoon) are then confirmed by letter before the half-term break.

Reception Admissions

Pupil Admission Number: 30
Admissions into Reception are handled by the Local Authority and all parents need to complete a form prior to the closing date in the January before the child is due to start school.  It is recommended that the application is done online but there is the option to complete a paper version.  Full details can be found on the Torbay website or they can be contacted by calling 01803 208908.

PLEASE NOTE – If your child attends our Nursery then you will not automatically be given a place in the Reception class, you will need to apply. 

Places are allocated using the Local Authority’s admissions policy and, as we are usually over-subscribed, not everyone will be allocated a place. 

Admissions into Other Year Groups/Mid-Year

Pupil Admission Number: 30 per year group Admissions are handled by the Local Authority who liaise with us regularly as to any spaces that we may have.  The relevant page on their website can be found here or they can be contacted by calling 01803 208908.

If you are offered a place for your child to start in Reception then you will be invited to attend an ‘induction meeting’ which will inform you of the starting process and share information you will need to know so to ensure a smooth start into school.

Secondary School Admissions
