School Meals
Our school meals service continues to go from strength to strength and proves a popular choice for school lunches. We offer a wide choice of food each day including a choice of hot meals (including a Vegan option) or a ‘Lite bite’ option e.g. Sandwich.
The menu has been nutritionally balanced to ensure a healthy diet is achieved. Every day there are 2 vegetable choices as well as salad available to the children. For dessert in addition to the dessert of the day, children also have the choice of fruit salad or yogurt.
Many of the ingredients are now sourced from local providers and delivered daily to ensure the absolute freshness. We hope that this trend will continue to guarantee the best possible meals are being provided.
The range of freshly made sandwiches and baguettes continues to be available.
All meals are served with a drink, either water or milk which the children can access.

In order to receive free school meals (FSM) your child must attend a primary or secondary school in Torbay. If you have a child at nursery, they can receive FSM as long as they attend both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Parents/guardians who receive any of the following benefits are entitled to FSM:
- Income Support (IS)
- Employment and Support Allowance (Income Related)
- Universal Credit with an annual household income of less than £7,400 after tax
- Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Child Tax Credit without Working Tax Credit and with an annual taxable income (as assessed by HMRC) of less than £16,190
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
If you have recently become unemployed but are still receiving Working Tax Credits, you may be entitled to Free School Meals during your run on period.
Nursery Meals – £2.30
Reception to Year 2 – Free
Year 3 to Year 6 – £2.50
If your child has any dietary requirements, please inform the school office or the kitchen. Any ideas that could improve the service are greatly received.
