The Shadow Cage

In English this week, we have begun looking at a short story called The Shadow Cage by Philippa Pearce. This is a very atmospheric story and has a great use of language to set the scene. We will be using this story as inspiration for our next piece of writing.
In one of our English lessons, we did something called ‘freeze framing’, where the children were acting out scenes of the story and had to freeze at important parts. They then had to try and explain what the character would be feeling at that moment.
It proved to be a very interesting activity!
