Homework

Homework is set across the school to enable pupils to make maximum progress with their learning.  The amount of work and the frequency with which it is set is dependent upon the age of the child.  An outline of the homework which can be expected is detailed below:

Upper School Pupils:

  • Weekly maths and/or literacy homework (reading, writing or spelling activity) – set on Friday and due in on Wednesday
  • Daily reading (our expectation is that children read AT LEAST five times per week)
  • It is also essential that pupils learn their multiplication tables at home and practise telling the time regularly

Lower School Pupils:

  • Weekly maths or literacy homework – set on Friday and due in on Wednesday
  • Daily reading (our expectation is that children read AT LEAST five times per week)
  • Weekly spelling list of words to be learnt

Foundation Stage Pupils:

  • Daily sound work
