What a fabulous week we’ve had!
Reading:
World Book Day was on Thursday and we enjoyed sharing fun stories together, doing wordsearchs, making page buddies for our book marks. We really enjoyed going on a book scavenger hunt where we searched for characters or settings in different books.
Play the job mixing game – read the description then change the characters outfit to fit. https://1c7951e0f713f82c10d3-9c5e6fbd2c9d828eb37b6bf0399bddd6.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/job-mixer/index.html

Literacy:
We have been looking at apostrophes this week. We know they have two uses; one is to show belonging e.g. Tom’s cat, the other is to replace letters in a contraction e.g. do not = don’t.

Maths:
We have been looking at subtraction this week. We know that we can solve subtraction calculations with take-away, but we can also ‘find the difference between’ the numbers.

Design and Technology:
We have been practising our sewing skills this week. It has been a HUGE challenge but we persevered brilliantly! We have been practising threading a needle, and then two different types of stitches – running stitch or over stitch.

Science:
We are looking at materials and their properties. This week we’ve enjoyed discussing properties and what the material is best used for e.g. could glass make a suitable chair?
