Phew! These Dolphins are such an amazing class of wonderfully, hard-working children!

We also had an exciting visit from Firefighter Kerri! She explained how to keep ourselves safe and what number to phone if we need an emergency service like the fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguards. She gave us all homework too, she asked us to check we have smoke detectors at home and to test them each month. 

Maths:

We are learning about time. It has been tricky put we’re trying our hardest. We know the long hand is for the minutes and the short hand is for the hours. We can tell o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times.

Literacy:

We have been learning about past tense, this is when something has happened already. We can add the suffix -ed some of the time but sometimes we need to change the word completely!

We have been forgetting about Common Exception Words spellings this week so we’re reminding ourselves! They are tricky words that don’t follow a spelling rule.
