Tragic Titanic Year 1

Thursday, March 14th, 2019

The children are all really enjoying our history topic ‘Tragic Titanic’ and have been so engaged in their learning about the events that happened on that fateful night over 100 years ago. We have looked closely at the areas of the ship and learnt about the different classes. We have even imagined being on the ship ourselves as a 3rd class child who sneaked into first class! We were using exclamation marks in our writing to show we were so surprised and excited when we saw the luxurious first class accommodation. “Wow look at that magnificent chandelier!”

Here are a few pictures of our work so far…

Seals celebrate World Book Day !

Monday, March 11th, 2019

Seals looked fantastic as their story characters  for World Book Day. We all enjoyed sharing stories and talked about how important hearing and reading stories was.

The Seals are true Dragon Artists!

Friday, February 15th, 2019

Wow!

Wow! What an amazing bunch of budding artists! The children have spent the last two days adding detail step by step to their final pictures; combining all the art skills they have learnt during our topic `Dragon Tales.`

We have illustrated our own story book and learnt many drawing and painting skills. Take a look at how we are all concentrating really hard on adding detail to our dragons. They are truly `Works of Art!`

Dolphins and Seals being safe on the internet

Wednesday, February 6th, 2019

Classes Dolphins and Seals have been learning how to be safe on the internet.  We demonstrated the dangers by linking the children with string, watching videos and class activities.  Well done children for listening to this important topic so attentively.

A visit from Seals

Thursday, December 20th, 2018

What a lovely tine we’ve had this morning, showing all the lovely children from Seals the toys that we made as part of our topic work. They tried them, asked us questions and even gave us some feedback. We will certainly use their reviews in our work after Christmas!

Merry Christmas  from all of us in Starfish to all the children and their families.
